Terms of Service
Effective date: 06/26/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and DevIt ("ToldU", "we", "us") governing your use of the ToldU mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What ToldU is — and is not
ToldU lets you describe an interpersonal conflict, receive an AI-generated "fault analysis" (a ratio, summary, and suggested steps), and optionally publish it for other users to vote and comment on.
The Service is for entertainment and reflection only. The AI analysis is generated by an automated language model. It is not professional advice and is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified therapist, counselor, lawyer, or other professional. It can be wrong, biased, or incomplete. Do not rely on it to make important decisions about your relationships, legal matters, safety, or wellbeing. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter these Terms. The Service is not directed to children under the applicable age of digital consent.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us at support@toldu.ink of any unauthorized use. You may sign in with email/password, Apple, or Google. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Your content and the conduct rules
"User Content" means anything you submit — case descriptions, follow-up answers, posts, comments, usernames, and avatars.
You agree that you will not submit content that:
- identifies, or could reasonably identify, another real person without their consent (real names, photos, contact details, addresses, workplaces, etc.);
- is false and harmful to someone's reputation (defamatory), or invades someone's privacy;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, or incites violence against anyone;
- is hateful or discriminatory based on protected characteristics;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualizes or endangers minors in any way;
- promotes self-harm, suicide, or dangerous activities;
- is illegal, infringes others' intellectual property, or violates any law (including Korea's defamation and information/communications laws, which can apply even to true statements that harm reputation); or
- is spam, a scam, malware, or an attempt to manipulate votes or the platform.
The full rules are in the Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting it.
5. License you grant us
You keep ownership of your User Content. To operate the Service, you grant ToldU a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process (including sending case content to our AI provider), display, and distribute your User Content for the purpose of running and improving the Service. For content you choose to publish to the public feed, this license includes letting other users view, vote on, comment on, and share it within the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others have already shared and backup/legal copies we are required to keep, and except for anonymized, aggregated data (such as vote tallies) that no longer identifies you.
6. AI output
The fault analysis and other AI outputs are generated automatically. We do not guarantee their accuracy, neutrality, or fitness for any purpose. You may edit AI output before publishing; if you do, you are responsible for the edited result. AI output is provided "as is" as part of the Service and subject to the disclaimers in Section 10.
7. Moderation and enforcement
We may, but are not obligated to, review User Content. We may remove content, limit visibility, suspend or terminate accounts, and take other action — with or without notice — if we believe content or conduct violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines, harms users, or exposes us to liability. We provide in-app tools to report content and block users. We are not responsible for User Content posted by others.
8. Payments and subscriptions
If the Service offers paid features or subscriptions, they are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to those stores' terms and billing. Prices, billing cycles, and what each plan includes are shown at purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your store account. Refunds are handled by the applicable app store under its policies; for Korean consumers, statutory withdrawal/refund rights under the 전자상거래법 apply where required by law.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, logos, and trademarks (but excluding User Content), is owned by ToldU and its licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App as permitted by these Terms and the EULA. You may not copy, modify, reverse- engineer, resell, or create derivative works from the Service except as the law allows.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL AI OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI output will be accurate or reliable. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including mandatory consumer protections in Korea).
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ToldU AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REPUTATION, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON AI OUTPUT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ToldU harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others — including claims that your content defamed someone or disclosed their private information.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for any lawful reason. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. content license for already-shared content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer in Korea, mandatory provisions of Korean law (including the 약관규제법 and 전자상거래법) that protect you still apply, and you may bring claims in your local courts where the law gives you that right. We will try to resolve disputes informally first — contact support@toldu.ink.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
